Local junior curlers get rare opportunity to participate in the Scotties tournament

Behind the Hack

Anna Desharnais and Luc Blanchette, two local junior curlers, will have a once in a life time opportunity to participate in the Canadian Woman Scotties Championship coming to Grande Prairie.
At the beginning of every draw, all teams playing will march in and be introduced. The teams are led by a junior curler, where they hold up a sign with the province’s name.
The junior curlers receive a jacket from the team they are representing and get to meet and spend time with the curlers prior to the game. How “cool” is that? To be amongst the best woman curlers in Canada.
TSN will broadcast all the games at the Scotties, and in many cases, the junior curlers will be seen on TV when they do the official introduction of the teams playing. Tune in Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m., as Luc Blanchette will represent team Saskatchewan and on Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m., Anna Desharnais will represent the Newfoundland and Labrador team.
