At 2:24 p.m. on June 14, Smoky River Fire and Emergency Services and the RCMP responded to a vehicle fire on Highway 49, east of Range Road 215.

The truck had been struck by lightning. It occurred by the antenna on the right side of the vehicle. The engine caught fire and the vehicle was destroyed.

Only the driver was in the vehicle. However, there were not injuries from the incident.

There were no other details available at press time.
