Some people braved the winter chill and roasted weiners over an open fire, while others stayed inside and chatted with their friends and neighbours.

Family Day activities were held at the outdoor rink in Jean Cote in the afternoon of Feb. 18, with dozens of people attending. Hosting the event were Smoky River Family and Community Support Services and hosted the Jean Cote Cultural Society.

“We hoped to see lots of people and that they had fun,” says Marie Dubois, one of the organizers.

Hot dogs, chili, dessert and hot chocolate were the among the fare served. There were also draws for prizes.
