High Prairie RCMP now investigating homicide of two missing persons

RCMP
News release

High Prairie, Alberta – Late yesterday (July 27), the Office of the Medical Examiner in Edmonton completed the autopsies of Dylan Laboucan and Cory Grey. The findings of the Medical Examiner are that both Laboucan and Grey are the victims of homicide. The Medical Examiner has also concluded that both victims were shot.

With this critical evidence now known by the RCMP, the investigation is focused upon arresting the person or persons responsible for these murders. Investigators have a significant amount of evidence that has been collected thus far and feel strongly this was not a random act. They are continuing their investigation.

This event has been a shock to the family and friends of both Dylan Laboucan and Cory Grey, and indeed the whole Whitefish River First Nation community. If not for the tireless efforts of the community members and their participation in the search of the rural area outside High Prairie, it is unlikely the bodies of both victims would have been located as early as they had been.

The RCMP is appealing to anyone in the public who may have information regarding these two deaths to call the High Prairie RCMP detachment at (780) 523-3370. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by Internet at www.tipsubmit.com. You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.
