Falher’s centennial anniversary will be held June 14-16, 2019 and the organizing committee is inviting the public to present their ethnic dishes at the ‘Taste of Falher’ event.

The Honey Festival Committee met at the Town of Falher office in the evening of November 21 to discuss plans for the centennial, including the ‘Taste of Falher’ event, with an emphasis on including all of the ethnic groups that live and work in the community and area.

Says Secretary/Treasurer Lynn Farrell:

“At last night’s meeting, we counted over a dozen different nationalities that now make Falher and area their home or place of work.

“We would like to learn more about one another’s cultures by hosting the ‘Taste of Falher’ event that will hopefully bring us all together to celebrate our Falher 100th anniversary.

“We are looking for people to share their ethnic dishes. Please contact James Bell, our coordinator, at belljames4@gmail.com by Dec. 17th, 2018.”

The Honey Festival Committee is applying for a federal grant under the Community Support Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Initiatives Program, for the centennial celebration. The program is available to communities with populations under 10,000 and promotes multicultural events.
