Ecole Providence School in McLennan welcomes one new teacher while the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division adds two new teachers to Holy Family CyberHigh.

Jordyn Skinner joined Providence in February 2020 when she started teaching Grades 1 and 2.

Originally from Whitecourt, she has one year experience, previously teaching senior high school Language Arts, Social Studies and Psychology as well as Grades 1 and 2.

Two new teachers are on staff of CyberHigh.

“Holy Family Cyber High’s enrolment increased significantly this year due to the increase in demand for at-home learning in the coronavirus [COVID-19] pandemic,” HFCRD communications officer Jody Bekevich says.

Cathy MacAdam teaches high school Science online.

She recently retired after teaching Physics, Chemistry and other Sciences for 30 years at Glenmary School in Peace River.

MacAdam currently lives near Talbot, AB east of Castor.

“I moved back to my farm in Talbot and was excited to be able to work in CyberHigh from here,” MacAdam says.

Krista Taylor teaches high school Math online from her home in Sherwood Park.

Her love of Math started around the same time as her interest in alternative education, in Grade 7.

Both blossomed when she chose to take her Grade 11 year online through the Alberta Distance Learning Centre and ultimately led her to working as a Math teacher in online environments since 2011.

Helping her students to understand, appreciate and even learn to enjoy Math is one of her greatest joys.

She is excited to be working with Holy Family CyberHigh as they support their students through the coronavirus pandemic.
