The Ecole Heritage senior girls’ volleyball team ended their season on a high note, winning the silver medal at zones.
The team was in Fort Vermillion during November 16 & 17 for the zone tournament. They played against the St. Thomas Moore team in the finals, who won the game and took the gold medal.
“We had a good shot to win gold, but we came up short,” says Coach Jean- Pierre Lavoie. Nonetheless, he is pleased with their performance over the season.
“They grew their talent and got better over the season,” says Lavoie, adding that Captain Zoe Tardif was a good leader on and off the court.
The senior boys’ team hosted their zones tournament that same weekend. They lost in the quarter finals.
“But it was our best tournament of the season,” says Coach James Bazan-Lindsay.
“Everybody came together and peeked at the right time.”
