Brett Heckbert gave a new definition to “one-man wrecking crew” as he scored 44 points to lead the Donnelly G.P. Vanier Vipers to a 58-45 win over Slave Lake Roland Michener Feb. 25.
Heckbert scored 10 points in the first quarter, 17 in the second, eight in the third and nine in the fourth to lead the 5-3 Vipers to the win over the 3-4 RMSS Rams.
The scoring spree allowed Heckbert to capture the league scoring title with 19.38 points per game.
The Vipers led 18-14 after one quarter, 39-20 at the half and 49-35 at three-quarter time.
Parker St. Laurent, Aaron Archbold and Gage Deslauriers each added four points for the Vipers while Cole Fournier added the other two.
Parker Zutz scored 19 to lead the Rams while Korbin Gauthier added 13. Noah Plouffe added seven points while Oliver Horseman, Guile Sihal and Jarius Apilades each added two points.
