Kitchen renovations at the Guy Community Centre have cost approximately $70,000, but they are complete.
The work has included all new cupboards, an ovenhood, fire suppression system and flooring.
This was part of Mike Caron’s report to the Guy Sports Committee during their meeting at the centre on April 11.
The next renovation project will be the meeting room. The work will include new lighting and flooring, a suspended ceiling and a closed-in furnace room.
The work was supposed to start on April 12.
Caron also highlighted some of the events held at the centre over the last year. This included Farmer’s Day, held on June 6, 2015, and it was a reasonable success, he says. This year’s event is tentative scheduled for July 8.
An election of officers was also held. Simone Gagnon is the new president and Avis Gagne is the new secretary.
Jaclyn Noel is one of the new directors, while the others hadn’t been confirmed at press time.
