High Prairie School Division has appointed Linda Green and Murray Marran as district principals starting Sept. 1.
Green has been the principal of Roland Michener Secondary School in Slave Lake since June 2012.
She has more than 16 years of teaching experience inclusive of more than eight years experience as vice-principal at both E.G. Wahlstrom and Roland Michener Secondary School.
Green also worked at Driftpile Community School for five years as a co-administrator and special education co-ordinator.
Green will be responsibile to develop and implement a strategic instructional plan, professional development plan for instructional leadership, guide and mentor vice-principals, work with school administrative teams to provide quality instructional leadership in their schools and work collaboratively with members of the learning support team
She has her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and her Master of Arts, Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University.
Marran has more than 16 years of experience as a teacher, principal, and administrator in both public and private school systems.
He will be responsible to assist principals in planning for increased student success, assisting principals in the interpretation, analysis, and presentation of Accountability Pillar Online Reporting Initiative (APORI) data, as well as diploma exams and provincial achievement test results, assisting in the development of school improvement plans, assisting schools in addressing the achievement gap, and providing mentorship to principals.
He has been with the division since 2011 when he was appointed principal at Prairie River Junior High School, before he served as principal at Georges P. Vanier School in Donnelly in 2013, and then to the position of assistant superintendent of finance in 2015.
Marran has a Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, and a Master of Business Administration.
