GPV track-and-field team brings home medals from Grande Prairie

Georges P. Vanier’s track-and-field team came home from zones with medals and two members are heading for Red Deer for provincials.

Zones were held in Grande Prairie during May 25 & 26 and Coach Marion Lessard is pleased with her team’s performance.

“They were competing against bigger schools, so they did well,” says Lessard.

Here are the results of zones:

Girls 3000-Metre Run Junior High, 3: Katelyn Lambert, 14:16.7.

Girls Long Jump Senior: 3. Shanele Morin, 3.90 metres.

Girls Triple Jump Senior: 1. Shanele Morin, 9.09 metres.

Boys High Jump, Junior High: 1. Luwie Kleyn, 1.52 metres.

Boys Long Jump, Junior High: 3. Patrick Pabalan, 4.43 metres.

Boys Triple Jump, Junior High: 2. Patrick Pabalan, 9.80 metres.

Boys Javelin Throw, Junior High Intermediate: 3. Jayden Bouchard, 28.74 metres.

Boys Shotput Junior High Intermediate: 3. William Hauch, 10.01 metres.

Boys 3000-Metre Run Junior: 2. Dorian Adams, 12:23.5.

Shanele Morin and Dorian Adams qualified for provincials in Red Deer, which took place June 1-2, which marks the end of the season for track-and-field.
