GPV senior volleyball teams bring home consolation plaques from the Peace Classic

The senior girls’ team travelled to Valleyview this past weekend for their zone tournament, while the boys’ team went to Peace River for theirs.

They didn’t win medals, but both senior volleyball teams for Georges P. Vanier brought home their respective consolation plaques.

They received them at the Peace Classic, held in Peace River during Nov. 9-10.

The boys’ team placed third in round robin play and played against Rainbow Lake in the consolation game, winning in three sets.

The girls’ team was 2-1 in round robin action and ended in a three-way tie for first place. They played against E.W. Pratt of High Prairie in their consolation game.

The Ecole Heritage senior teams also participated in the Peace Classic. But they lost in the quarter finals.

Seventeen boys’ teams and 21 girls’ teams participated in the Peace Classic.
