Goudreault new principal at Providence

Ecole Providence School in McLennan welcomes Lauri Goudreault as its new principal in September.

She was appointed by Holy Family Catholic Regional Division [HFCRFD], states an news release June 24.

Goudreault succeeds Krista Veitch, who becomes the principal in Holy Family School in Grimshaw, after six years at Providence as principal.

“I look forward to building relationships with the staff, students and families at Providence School,” says Goudreault, who transfers from Glemmary School in Peace River.

“I am grateful for my time at Glenmary School.

“The staff and students will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Goudreault started at Glenmary as a teacher in 1994, became the inclusive education co-ordinator in 2014, and was promoted to vice-principal in 2016.

Her extensive experience has well-prepared her for the next step in her career.

“Lauri brings a wealth of experience to her new role after many years in the classroom, managing inclusive education and being an administrator,” Supt Betty Turpin says.

“We are thrilled to work with Lauri in this new capacity where I am confident her skills will shine.”

Goudreault was born and raised in Peace River and graduated from Glenmary.

She lives in Peace River with her husband, Richard.

In 1993, she graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education Degree.

Goudreault did some substitute teaching her first year within the town of Peace River and then began her teaching career at Glenmary where she taught a variety of courses with her main focus being mathematics from Grades 7-11.
