The municipal office for the Village of Girouxville suffered a flood on Aug. 16.
Council discussed the matter during their meeting at the community hall on Sept. 14. It was noted that repair work includes replacing the flooring and toilets.
The date for completion wasn’t known at press time, and there is no final cost estimate yet.
Property tax penalty reversed
Council approved the reversal of a property tax penalty in the amount of $557.46, for a residential property.
Franchise fee
Council agreed to keep the franchise free for ATCO Electric at four per cent for 2017.
Delegation
Diane Chiasson, who works for Smoky River Regional Economic Development, made a presentation about the French cultural organization, Concerto, highlighting the benefits of membership. Council did not commit to joining, however.
