Delegation from Girouxville Enhancement Committee

Marc & Alex Brochu representatives for the “Skating Rink Project” announced that they have received their society status under the name “Girouxville Enhancement Committee.”
A delegation from the “Girouxville Enhancement Committee” spoke with council at its January 13 2016 meeting seeking the council’s support for the planed revamping of Girouxville skating rink into a year round community sports and recreation facility.
The Committee are seeking council support for the project, which includes full slab cement, new lighting and sport courts.
Council presented the motion to support the Committee’s skating rink project and carried the motion to include the full slab cement, new lights and outdoor sports court facility.
The motion was made and carried, that an engineer be hired to provide a site plan for this project and that the Village of Girouxville cover the cost.

Smoky River Tourism – 2016 membership

Motion made not to renew the Village of Girouxville’s membership for 2016 with the Smoky River Tourist Association.

Rural Physician Action Plan

Motion to send a letter to the MLA and Minister of Health indicating the importance of supporting retention of the RPAP not-for-profit organization and its value in rural Alberta.
