Diane Chiasson, Director, Rural Development and Entrepreneurship at “Conseil de dévelopement économic de l’Aberta” applied for the EcoConnexions grant from CN last September for the Town of Falher and the FaBuLas.

CN EcoConnexions, with its partners and , help Canadian municipalities establish tree plantings in a sustainable, environmentally responsible manner.

With a true transcontinental network that extends to three North American coasts, CN passes through a wide range of urban and rural communities.

They encourage those communities along the CN corridor to take environmental action by improving their communities through natural landscaping, groundcover improvement, floral displays and healthy urban forests.

The grant From the Ground Up was to plant trees and for some landspacing in the Honey Capital Park.

On June 8th, Shelleen Gerbig, Extension Coordinator at SARDA did an information session about the 22 benefices of trees with grade 3, 4 & 6 Routier School students and planted some trees with them. Diane Chiasson, CDEA did the same thing in French for Routier School and Ecole Héritage students.

The information session was a success. 83 students participated.
