An enjoyable late morning and early afternoon occurred July 11 when the Lesser Slave Lake Watershed Council hosted the annual Kids Can Catch at Winagami Lake Provincial Park boat launch. Included in the fun was a free barbecue including hotdogs and hamburgers, games and giveaways. Best of all was free fishing gear was provided to anyone who needed it and no fishing licences were required. The council also provided information on its programs and efforts to preserve the watershed.
Blake Brochu, 5, of Smoky River, snags not one but two fish! The cutout fish had magnets on them.
