Fitness Centre grand opening generates positive response

The McLennan Fitness Centre, held an open house to mark the official open of the facility on September 18.

Approximately 50 people came through the Centre and all expressed an enthusiastic response to the first class setup that has been gradually developing since the centre began operating last fall.

New equipment is being acquired regularly with some of the most recent acquisitions being a stepper machine, dual exercise bike and rowing machine and a leg press and leg extension apparatus.

McLennan Parks and Recreation Board who hosted the event, invited everyone who attended the opening to enter their name to win a gift basket of Arboone Essentials, and a one-year Fitness Centre membership valued at $550.

Of the over 40 names submitted for the draw, Tatum Young was the lucky recipient of the gift basket and membership.

All members of the McLennan Fitness Centre can use Providence School gymnasium for sports such as badminton, basketball etc. every Monday and Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm.

There are group business discounts available for Fitness Centre memberships and there a seniors discount of $275 instead of the standard $350 for a one year membership.

The McLennan Fitness Centre is located in the west wing of Ecole Providence and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to accommodate the preferences and varying schedules of all members.
