Week 2 – Outdoor Adventures.

Week two kicks off in McLennan, during this week the theme is Outdoor Adventures. Youth will take in a Junior Forest Warden presentation, nature walk, McLennan Bird walk, outdoor picnic, swim at the pool in Falher, have a wacky science day and go to Winagami Lake to round the week off. Imagine all of the great self esteem activities that they are being involved in all the while having fun and meeting other youth from all over the region.

This year our coordinator, Melanie Blanchette, is bilingual which assists our youth who speak French as their first language an all-around experience. Meagan Aubin is our assistant and also speaks French and has experience with youth programs. The 2016 team is in place to ensure your youth have a positive experience in the summer programs.

Our four-day summer programs normally run Monday-Thursday, except for the week of August 2-5 in McLennan, which runs from Tuesday to Friday, due to the long weekend. The cost is $50 per youth.

Our first one-day horse program is on July 22 at the Northbase Ranch for youth ages 6-12. This day will be full of fun esteem building activities including pony rides, petting zoo, and scavenger hunt, crafts, cooking on the campfire and much, much more for a cost of $50, which includes transportation, snacks and lunch.

The other one-day horse program is on August 19 at the EC Bar Ranch east of High Prairie, for youth ages 10-15. The youth will trail ride on horseback, slip and slide, corn maze, bale maze, cook on a campfire as well as many esteem building activities. This one-day program is $75 which includes transportation, snacks and lunch.

A subsidy is available by contacting Georgia Dubois at srfcss@live.ca or calling (780) 837-2220.
