An Alzheimer presentation hosted by FCSSat the Club des Pionniers in Donnelly was certainly of interest to people in the community with 28 people attending.

Many of those who attended the seminar have had to deal with Alzheimer’s and dementia first hand through family and friends and found the presentation extremely informative and helpful.

The Alzheimer Society, Alberta and Northwest Territories (ASANT) regional representative from Grande Prairie, Jennifer Caseley, gives numerous presentations and promotes awareness of Alzheimer’s across the region.

Caseley’s easy rapport with her audience and her sense of humour made discussion and imparting of information relaxed and accessible.

Breaking for lunch, which was served at the Club des Pionniers gave the presentation a personable and unhurried atmosphere.

Considering that the discussion of dementia and Alzheimer’s can be complex and daunting, those who attended the presentation left with a more comprehensive understanding of the condition and better equipped to recognize the symptoms and cope with the illness.

Anyone looking for more information about Alzheimer’s should visit the ASANT website at www.alzheimer.ca/en/ab/About-dementia.
