The High Prairie Regals came to Falher on December 6 and the Pirates gave them a run for their money.
But it didn’t start out that way, as Lloyd Ahkimnachie and Drake Cunningham opened the scoring for the Regals in the first period.
However, Dallas Brochu scored an unassisted goal for the Pirates later on, with the first period ending 2-1 for the Regals.
The Regals scored again just 39 seconds in the second period, a short-handed goal, courtesy of Ahkimnachie again.
But the Regals came back with three more goals, scored by Dallas Brochu, Jeff Chalifoux and Darren Kramer.
The Pirates led 4-3 at the end of the second period.
Drake Cunningham scored for the Regals early in the third period.
The Pirates scored two more goals, including by Jay Anderson and Brian Sommers.
Kirk Ruecker scored one last goals for the Regals later. But the Pirates won the game 6-5.
