The Falher IGA has a promotion for shoppers to buy Care Packages for needy families this holiday season.

“It’s the customers’ generosity that makes it all happen,” says Manager Nolan Parker. “Sobey’s will match contributing dollars on certain days throughout the program.”

The program started November 29 and goes until December 31, and shoppers can purchase these Care Packages in $5 and $10 denominations. A typical Care Package has canned goods, a jar of peanut butter, macaroni and other items.

Last year, the Falher IGA raised over $3,000 for the program. This year’s total will be announced in early January.

All proceeds from the sales will go to the local food bank, and Sobey’s will also send gift cards to Smoky River Family and Community Support Services for their clients.
