Falher Curling Club holds men’s and women’s bonspiel

They came, and went around the world and back, all in two days.

Yes, with this year’s theme of “mini worlds,” people were able to sample different varieties of beers we had from all parts of the world.

The consensus amongst all curlers was; the world needs to taste North American beer to see what they are missing out on. In the end, when all the foam settled out, the Linda L’abbe team took the title in the Women’s Division and Charles Simoneau team took the title in the Men’s Division.

There were a total of 12 teams that participated on January 14.

Saturday evening also settled a long overdue dispute of who is the more proficient sex; male or female, in one of our games called “Battle of the sexes.” You will have to ask those that were in attendance to find out the details on the results of this battle, ha.

The Falher Curling Club will be hosting the PCA Master and PCA Juvenile Playdowns during January 27-29. The next bonspiel will be the Farmers’ during the weekend of February 10-12.

That will be the last bonspiel of the year, so stay tuned for more details.
