Falher council turns down request to allow Seacans in residential areas

During their meeting on June 13, council for the Town of Falher decided against approving an amendment to the municipality’s bylaw that would have allowed Seacans in residential areas.
2016 road improvement tenders
Council approved a tender submitted by Ruel Bros. Contracting for the municipality’s 2016 road improvement tenders.
Ruel Bros. Contracting will do the work for the amount of $586,464.66.
Splash park budget approved
Council approved a budget of $10,000 for the operation of the splash park, located at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex, for 2016.
Floor work in FRRC to proceed
Council passed a motion to proceed with the floor work in the Falher Regional Recreation Complex.
The Town of Falher’s contribution is a maximum of $6,100. The municipality will also receive approximately $10,000 under grant from the Alberta Recycling Management Authority.
Meters to be removed from old SRE building
Council passed a motion to have the meters removed from the old Smoky River Express building on Main Street.
The Town of Falher will continue to insure the building as it looks for a buyer.
