Falher council approves amendments to land use bylaw

During their meeting on March 14, council for the Town of Falher approved the second and third readings to amend the municipality’s land use bylaw. The bylaw changes the front yard setbacks from 25 feet to 15 feet for the Central Subdivision.

Surveillance system for arena, splash park
Council agreed to purchase security cameras for the Falher Regional Recreation Complex, from Paladin Security of Edmonton, in the amount of $9,461. Three cameras will be installed at the arena, with the fourth being installed by the splash park.

Municipality to cover part of splash park operating costs
Council approved a motion for the Town of Falher to cover up to 50 per cent of the operating expenses for 2015 and 2016, to a maximum of $8,000 for 2016.

Recreation coordinator job description
Council approved a motion for the recreation coordinator to work to a maximum of 110 hours for the honey festival, between Aug. 1, 2015 and July 31, 2016.

Assessment Review Board Representative
Council approved a motion for the Town of Falher to pay for Guy Beaudoin’s mileage, meals and accommodations, so that he can complete the Assessment Review Board course.
