Falher council approves LUB amendment for marijuana legalization

During their meeting on Sept. 15, the council for the Town of Falher approved a land-use bylaw amendment regarding marijuana legalization.

Council will hold a public hearing on Oct. 15, prior to giving final approval of the municipality’s legalization of marijuana use.

FRRC agreement with Pirates approved

Council approved the agreement with the Falher Pirates for use of the Falher Regional Recreation Complex for the 2018/19 season.

Council also approved a directive to administration to change the lighting of the metal bee by the Centre Chevaliers, with energy-efficient LED lighting.

SRRPR&RC request approved

Council approved the Smoky River Regional Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee’s request for use of the upstairs at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex.

The SRRPR&RC will be billed for use of the facility, but council will return the money as a donation.
