All five of the Ecole Heritage Lynx volleyball teams have come away with victories in recent weeks.
First, at Grimshaw Trojans High School Tournament during October 16-17, the senior boys defeated E.W. Pratt from High Prairie in the final 25-17 and 25-20, a team to which they lost in round-robin play.
The senior girls went undefeated in the tournament, beating Fairview High School in the final 25-14 and 25-11.
“These tournaments are very important preparation matches for the upcoming zone tournament in November,” says principal Nicole Walliser.
“Our senior boys team is hosting provincials and is looking to peak at that time,” she adds.
“Our girls hope to qualify for the provincial championship in Fairview.”
The junior teams were also successful.
The mini-Lynx girls’ team competed against A and B teams alike at École des Quatre-Vents in Peace River the same weekend. The girls moved into the consolation play-offs following round-robin play. They defeated Grimshaw School in the final 25-21 and 25-21.
The junior boys won gold at the Georges P. Vanier invitational tournament on Oct. 17. The junior girls won the silver medal in the same tournament.
