The field near Ecole Routhier was a busy place on June 8, as the school held its annual track-and-field meet there.

The students in Grades K-6 participated in the event, with Grade 8 students and parents assisting.

“The Grade 8 students did a great job, as did the volunteer parents,” says organizer Charles Marinier.

The 18 activities included sprinting, long jumps, pushups, sit-ups and skipping. Ribbons were given out for the overall athletes, by age group and boys and girls.

The school started keeping records a few years ago and some students in this year’s track-and-field event broke some of them.
