Summary of regular Donnelly council meeting September 17th, 2018

Delegation from Peace Library Systems, Linda Duplessis, presented a review of their services.

Peace Library Services benefits to Libraries & Communities:

– Peace Library System helps libraries offer more than they could on their own.
– Residents have far more resources and up-to-date sources of information.
– Peace Library System connects member libraries to other libraries across the province.
– Being a Peace Library System member means your library is not alone; help is just a phone call or an e-mail away.

Consultant for ICF, IDP, MDP and Regional Governance for water, wastewater and solid waste
Council awarded the contract to Vicinia Planning & Engagement Inc. to complete the regional Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework, the Intermunicipal Development Plans the Municipal Development Plans, and the Regional Governance review for the water, wastewater and solid waste project.
The funding for these projects will be paid through Alberta Community Partnership Grants.

Canadian Industrial Hemp Corp Incentive
Should this company be interested in a parcel of land near the Donnelly area, council will be open to discuss water and sewer access.

ATCO Gas Franchise Fee
The franchise fee for ATCO Gas will remain the same in 2019.

Smoking Cannabis Bylaw
Council gave 1st reading to the Smoking and Vaping of Tobacco or Cannabis Bylaw.
Next step will be to hold a public open house on Tuesday October 2nd, 2018, to request feedback.
Next regular meeting for council is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2018.
