Cole Bremont to represent Zone 8 at Alberta Summer Games this weekend

A member of the Smoky River Manatees Swim Club will soon go up against some of the best swimmers in the province.

Cole Bremont has been chosen to represent Zone at at the Alberta Summer Games in Leduc this weekend.

Bremont and other Manatees competed at the Grande Prairie Aquarians Meet on June 25 and five of them came home with strong placements:

. Cole Bremont, second in the 50-metre freestyle, second in the 100-metre freestyle and third in the 50-metre butterfly stroke.

. Mathieu Maisonneuve, second in the 200-metre freestyle and third in the 50-metre freestyle.

. Henco Smith, second in the 50-metre backstroke.

. Blake Lambert, first in the 50-metre backstroke, first in the 50-metre breast stroke and third in the 100-metre backstroke.

. Antoine Simone, second in the 25-metre breast stroke, third in 25-metre freestyle and third in the 50-metre breast stroke.

Bremont’s results allow him to go to the Alberta Summer Games.

About the Alberta Summer Games

From July 14th to the 17th, 2016 over 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials from across Alberta will be in Leduc to compete, learn, and share experiences of a lifetime at the 2016 Alberta Summer Games.

Athletes ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old representing 14 different sports will befriend teammates and competitors from eight regional zones.
