Chomiak trial delayed again, now set for April 2016

Edward John Chomiak’s new trial date has been set for April 25, 2016 in Peace River.
This will be the fourth trial date. Chomiak has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the case of Melody Perry and Jerica Bouchard.
The case dates back to December 2010, when Chomiak was charged with their murders.
He has fired several lawyers during court proceedings.
Chomiak’s trial was supposed to begin on Nov. 23. But due to issues he raised about not having time to prepare his case, the judge set the new trial date.
