A Celebration of the life of Don Fish took place at the McLennan Legion Hall from 2pm to 6pm, September 10.

Community members, fellow veterans and family were present to celebrate his life and reminisce about the man with stories and anecdotes.

As Captain Fish led a very interesting life and had the reputation of being an excellent storyteller and raconteur, there must be many colourful stories to recount.

Born in Canwood, Saskatchewan in 1934, Don Fish grew up in McLennan.

He left McLennan to join the Canadian Air Force in 1959 and after his retirement Don and his wife Dale returned to their hometown.

During his career in the Air Force, Captain Fish flew in three missions: Vietnam, Cyprus and Lebanon.

Don Fish passed away at his home in McLennan on May 15 2016, at the age of 81.
