On Friday, April 8th, the CAFE Nord-Ouest hosted its third annual spring Family Fair.
The morning was dedicated to older youth and members of the community.

The organizing committee welcomed Étienne Boulay, former football player, three-time Grey Cup champion, to give a talk in which he delivered a strong message on the importance of setting goals, having a positive attitude, persevering, and realizing dreams.

His conference inspired 123 participants, students as well as several members of the community.

In the afternoon, 270 elementary students and teachers from Héritage, Routhier and Quatre Vents schools, appreciated the prowess of Atlas, Geo Circus, who’s balancing and juggling act sparked awe and laughter.

After school hours, participants of all ages were invited to take part in a variety of games and challenges.
There was also face painting as well as a circus workshop. Several prizes were awarded.

Close to 200 participants enjoyed activities, dinner, and the evening Circus show. Once again, Atlas proved to be daring and humorous, rousing the crowd to laughter and applause. It was a highly entertaining performance, enjoyed by all.

This was all possible due to the dedication of the organizing committee, the many volunteers who helped and the participants who supported the event.

This project was selected amongst many, throughout Canada, to receive funding from FCC (Farm Credit Canada). The FCC Expression Fund supports Canada’s official languages and honors those communities where both languages thrive.
It supports projects that contribute to the vitality of official language minority communities and help residents express the cultural and linguistic diversity of their area.

Funding was also provided by the FPFA (Alberta Federation of francophone parents), without mentioning several local sponsorships.

President of the CAFE Nord-Ouest, Maryse Simon, maintains that the event was a huge success and that next year’s edition is not to be missed!

She says :
« Je suis très satisfaite de notre rassemblement familial. Les familles viennent en grand nombre aux évènements du CAFE Nord-Ouest pour socialiser, s’amuser, s’inspirer d’invités, et ce tout en français ! Le CAFE Nord-Ouest est fier de pouvoir offrir des activités diversifiées, faire découvrir des invités inspirants et surtout de rassembler les familles et la communauté pour vivifier la francophonie de la région ! »
