Spotlight Staff
The contributions of Northern Lakes College professionals were honoured during an awards dinner and reception Nov. 10.
Celebrating a combined 500 years, long service awards were presented to 38 staff members for five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and even 40 years of dedicated service.
The dinner also recognized staff members who have recently retired from the college.
All award recipients celebrating 20 or more years of service were acknowledged with speech tributes.
Supervisors shared anecdotes and accolades regarding their employee’s commitment, skill, and the valuable ways in which they personally influenced and promoted NLC’s positive work culture and student educational accessibility.
Honouring her 40 years of outstanding service, board chair Daniel Vandermeulen said of Shirley Anderson, “Shirley loves what she does and thoroughly enjoys working with our students.”
NLC president Ann Everatt added her thoughts.
“This event provides us with the opportunity to celebrate our employees’ commitment. The success of an organization is dependent upon staff who provide outstanding service. We succeed because of our staff. I extend a heartfelt thank you to all our employees celebrating long service who are passionate about their profession and dedicated to providing quality service to our students.”
