On June 18 in Slave Lake, Alberta began the Annual Canadian Tire Anglers Cup tournament. A total of 77 Teams competed from all over the region. Rainy and windy weather conditions made for a delayed start, and officials pushed back the competition by a day (calling it off on Friday and resuming on Saturday and Sunday.)
After the final weight in on June 19, the manager of the Slave Lake Canadian Tire, Richard Kresky, came to congratulate the tournament winners.
Kevin Schafer (l) and Chris Kindraka (r) reeled in first place at the2016 annual Candian Tire Anglers Cupt. The duo won $32,000 with a grand total weigh in of 29.28 pounds.Chad Brownlie (l) and Jeff Gaberel (l) was the weekend’s fourth place winners, with a total weigh in of 27.92 pounds.Jason Schaffrick (l) and Lyle Schaffrick (r) snagged fourth place with an end result of 27.82 pounds.James Holt (l) and Jayson Kolfluk (r) accept their winnings for coming in third place with an overall weight of 28.08 pounds.Dale McGrath (l) and Brandon McGrath (r) took home second place with a total weigh in of 28.26 pounds.
