Golfers flocked to the annual Peace River & District Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament to enjoy some of the last golfing days of the year.
This year’s tournament was held on Sept. 13 at the Mighty Peace Golf Club.
“We had 88 people golfing and it was a warm day, great for networking and connecting. Fun was had by all!” says Ramona Thoma, executive director of the chamber.
The United Floors team had the lowest score, while the team with the highest score was Peace River Chrysler.
Other winners included Danika Fox with Women’s Longest Drive, Northern Sunrise County Councillor Corinna Williams with the Women’s Longest Putt, Sandra Bucknell with Women’s Closest to the Pin, Jesse Peterson with Men’s Longest Drive, Dallas Taylor with Men’s Closest to the Pin, and Colby Rombough with Men’s Longest Putt.
Although there were two hole-in-one sponsors, no one won the two-year lease on a loaded F150 from Go Auto Peace River on hole four, or the $1,000 cash from Buchholtz Financial on hole 17.
The chamber thanks all of the sponsors for the event, such as Mercer Peace River Pulp, the Town of Peace River, Baytex Energy Corp, ATB Financial, MNP, United Floors, and many more.
“Thank you to all the teams that attended, the chamber team for all their help, Frank Light with Channico Machine and [the] handmade fire pit fantastic door prize, and Lori Day for taking team photos,” Thoma says.
“To everyone that contributed or attended you helped make the tournament a success!”
