The old High Prairie Bridge is over 90 years and a study for the options on how to deal with it should be completed by September.
Kevin Cymbaluk, the Director of Operations for the M.D. of Smoky River No. 130, discussed this as part of report to council during their meeting on Aug. 15.
The study is being conducted in partnership with Big Lakes Country, the M.D. of Greenview and Alberta Transportation.
Cymbaluk also noted the M.D. is still waiting to here from the Alberta Government about its request for disaster relief funding, from all of the flooding that has occurred in the Smoky River region this year. The public works department is still dealing with hundreds of repairs and over 670 sites have been documented.
In other news, two projects continue, one is on Township Road 754 in Whitemud, where three miles of road construction is taking place. The other is located at Township Road 742 near Sunset House, where road reconstruction and culvert replacement are taking place.
