The Smoky River Regional Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee met in the council chamber at the Town of Falher office in the evening of Feb. 5.
Holly Handfield attended for the Rural Health Professional Action Plan. Handfield noted that the committee can apply for another RPAP grant, up to $3,500, for attraction and retention projects.
Myrna Lanctot, the committee coordinator, will develop a plan of action and present it to the committee at a future meeting.
Handfield is also working on program to attract high school students into the health field.
In other news, the RPAP conference will be held in Brooks during April 10-12 and Lanctot will be attending.
Part of her role there will be as a panel member and she will share program information that is unique about the Smoky River region.
The next Smoky River Regional Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee meeting will be held in April, but the date has yet to be determined.
