Smoky River Family and Community Support Services – In Focus

Annual barbecue on Aug. 2

Smoky River Family and Community Support Services want to welcome you to small town Alberta, where you know who your neighbours are, and if you don’t you make opportunities to get to know them.

Where you can walk down the street and be greeted by a friendly smile and your short trip to the store becomes a long trip. Why, because you are stopped by friends and you spend your time catching up on the latest news, multiple times during your walk down the isles. Local businesses have employees that go out of their way to make sure the people who need help get the help they need. That is what makes Smoky River Region home for many people.

To help celebrate this small town atmosphere the Smoky River FCSS will be hosting a FREE Community BBQ August 2, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. This will be at the Hamelin-Leiding Memorial Park in McLennan on 3rd Ave. and Highway 2

There you will be able to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and enjoy a free meal on us. Smoky River Fire Department will have a fun water play area and Victims Services will have amazing door prizes to win, all in a park where there will be place for people to sit and talk, and the kids can run and play.

Watch for a member of the FCSS team to be in the grocery store handing them out or look for more information on our Facebook page. Have any questions, please feel free to call our office at (780) 837-2220 and ask any of our staff your questions, we would be more than happy to assist!
