The board for the Smoky River Child Care Society has been established, and they are getting down to the business of establishing a new child care facility in the region.
The board met at the Town of Falher administration office at lunch time on Aug. 22. Those present included President Jessica Simard and Diane Chiasson, the Smoky River Regional Economic Development officer. They and the other board members discussed the bylaws and then approved the changes. They also discussed the articles of incorporation and passed a motion to proceed with them.
Christin Trofimenkoff, an early learning consultant working out of Valleyview, advised the board of other matters they will have to deal with, such as employment standards.
