Slave Lake, AB – Shortly after 12 p.m. on April 19 a male entered a cell phone store in Slave Lake and attempted to purchase a number of devices.
When the suspect was unable to provide the proper payment and required identification he physically assaulted the clerk. It is alleged that the suspect punched, kicked and wrestled the clerk before fleeing from the store. The clerk suffered lacerations but did not require hospitalization.
The suspect was immediately identified by police through security footage and was believed to have committed an additional theft earlier in the day at a local convenience store. The 23-year-old Slave Lake male was located and arrested by police at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Charges are pending at this time.
