A Cadotte Lake man is facing several charges relating to stolen property.
Peace River Regional RCMP Sgt. Dave Browne says on April 28 at about 5:45 p.m., police encountered several individuals at the Grimshaw transfer station.
“…with a pick-up truck that had previously been reported stolen from the Fairview, Alberta, area,” says Browne.
“An investigation ensued, resulting in the recovery of additional stolen property from within the vehicle.”
As a result, Draper Nelson Laboucan, 40, is facing charges of possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000, possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, identity theft, and six counts failing to comply with conditions of a release order.
Charges are also pending against a Grimshaw area resident in connection with the investigation, Browne adds.
Laboucan has been remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is next scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial court July 6 to enter pleas to the charges.
