Passenger dies in collision near PR

On Feb. 20, at 9:42 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP received a 911 call of a serious collision between two vehicles on Highway 2A near Township Road 834.

Police, along with emergency services, attended the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates a head-on collision occurred between two vehicles traveling on Highway 2A. One passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene and three other persons involved have suffered injuries of unknown severity.

Highway 2A was completely closed to traffic between Grimshaw and Peace River and was diverted to adjacent township and range roads as a result of the collision.

RCMP investigated the collision with the assistance of the RCMP collision analyst.

The name of the deceased is not being released.
