Students at Ecole Routhier had the opportunity to learn about science first hand during March 22-23.

Ashley Ellison, the outreach coordinator for the Telus World of Science in Edmonton, held a demonstration in the main gym at the school on March 22. This included a small rocket engine being ignited and she had Siarra Embury press the button.

Ellison also held scientific demonstrations for Grades 4-6 during her visit at the school.

son says she engages students and enhances what they learn in class.

The ignition was loud and prominent, but short, and left the smell of rotten eggs, just as Ellison predicted to the students. The rocket engine experiment was performed in the main gym at Ecole Routhier on March 22.
