High Prairie School Division has launched a survey to help shape the academic calendars for the next two school years.

Partners in education are encouraged to participate in the survey that was finalized at the board’s regular meeting Dec. 20.

“We want your input on the 2018-19 and the 2019-20 school calendar,” says Tammy Henkel, who chairs the board.

The survey is accessible on the school division’s website (hpsd.ca) and social media sites and ends on Jan. 31.

Trustees and administration welcome students, parents, staff and community stakeholders to complete the survey.

“Thank you for your support,” Henkel says.

The board discussed and supported other items on the agenda.

Trustees supported a request for a $100 contribution to the Northwest Zone One- Act Play Festival.

The board approved the request as it directly supports students.

Trustees reviewed information on the Alberta School Boards Association Winter Leadership Academy set for Jan. 15-16 in Edmonton.

Members of the board participated in a Kairos blanket exercise led by some of the HPSD success coaches.

Other staff from the Learning Support Centre joined trustees in the activity which shares the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.

Trustees welcomed members of the facilities, technology, and transportation departments as well as the other staff from the Learning Support Centre to join them in a holiday lunch.
