High Prairie RCMP execute search warrant, make arrests

High Prairie, Alberta – On January 22, 2018 the High Prairie Integrated Drug Unit and High Prairie RCMP members executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the town of High Prairie.

Five people were arrested and during the search of the residence approximately 50 grams of cocaine prepackaged for the sale on the streets of High Prairie was seized along with marihuana and cash.

Quinn CUNNINGHAM (19) from Peavine Metis Settlement, James BADGER (18) from Sucker Creek FN, Brandon MUNRO from (19) High Prairie, Frank HAGEL (72) from High Prairie and Eleanor Louise OKEMOW (62) from High Prairie have all been charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine, Possession of marihuana and property obtained by crime. The five accused were released from custody and are due in High Prairie Provincial Court on February 18, 2018.

The High Prairie Integrated Drug Enforcement Unit aims to identify and disrupt organized crime in the town of High Prairie, County of Big Lakes and surrounding area, and to arrest and hold people accountable for their involvement in their criminal activities.

The High Prairie Integrated Drug Enforcement Unit is a collaboration of the High Prairie RCMP and Lakeshore Regional Police Service.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
