Grande Prairie RCMP Traffic Stop Result in Charges

Grande Prairie, Alberta –Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section (Drug Unit) charged two males following a traffic stop in the area of 92 Street and 92 Avenue.

On October 3, 2017 at approximately 10:45 P.M. the RCMP Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot near 92 Street and 92 Avenue. The traffic stop led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, Ajit KHALON (22) and passenger Lahi ABDI (25). During the scope of the investigation, police seized 13 grams of Cocaine and $4,010.00 in Canadian Currency.

KHALON and ABDI were both charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime


Both males are to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court today October 23, 2017.
