Grande Prairie, Alberta – On July 12, 2018 Peace River RCMP were called to a construction berm on the Peace River off 94 Street approximately 220 KM away from where a 2 year old boy went missing on Friday July 6, 2018. On arrival a body was recovered.
The body has been tentatively identified and it is believed to be that of the missing child.
Our thoughts continue to be with the family.
BACKGROUND
Grande Prairie, Alberta – RCMP continue to assist in the search for a two year old boy who went missing near the Wapiti River at the Canfor Bridge during the evening of July 6, 2018. The search continued throughout the day on July 7, 2018 and included boats, all-terrain vehicles and a helicopter in addition to people searching on foot. The search was concluded for the night at approximately 11:00 PM and will resume at 07:00 AM on July 8, 2018. RCMP and a number of search and rescue members will remain on scene for the duration of the night.
Police are asking the general public to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to focus on the search.

BACKGROUND
Grande Prairie, Alberta – RCMP continue to assist in the search for a two year old boy who went missing near the Wapiti River at the Canfor Bridge during the evening of July 6, 2018. RCMP and a number Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue members remained on scene overnight after search efforts were suspended yesterday at 11:00 PM. All available resources have been deployed to assist with the ongoing search.
Police are asking the general public to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to focus on the search.
