Grande Prairie, Alberta – One male is facing Criminal Code charges following a pursuit in Grande Prairie on July 3, 2018.

 

Kendall KRUGER (38) of Clairmont, AB has been charged with:

  • Kidnapping
  • Uttering threats
  • Break and Enter
  • Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Being Pursued by Police
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
  • Resist Police Officer

KRUGER remains in custody and will appear in court in Grande Prairie on July 9, 2018.

 

Police believe the second suspect fled the scene in a separate vehicle from KRUGER and remains at large.

BACKGROUND

 

Grande Prairie, Alberta – An adult male is in custody after leading RCMP on a pursuit that ended in the Municipal District of Greenview.

 

On July 3, 2018 at approximately 03:47 a.m. Grande Prairie RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of break and enter in progress in the area of 72 Avenue and Poplar Drive. Two male suspects entered the residence and assaulted the victim. The suspects then forced the victim into a vehicle before fleeing the area.

 

Police quickly located one of the suspect vehicles and initiated a pursuit that lasted approximately 50 minutes ending on Township Road 705 South of Crooked Creek where the suspect vehicle drove into the ditch becoming immobilized. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. A female passenger was arrested at the scene without incident. The male driver was located and arrested by Grande Prairie RCMP members with the assistance of Grande Prairie RCMP Police Dog Services. The victim was uninjured.

 

This matter is still under investigation and police continue attempts to locate the second suspect. Details are preliminary in nature. Charges are pending.
