Local RCMP have concluded several recent files with arrests and Criminal Code charges.
On July 4, 2019 RCMP were called to a rural residence for a firearms complaint where a male subject was carelessly discharging a firearm. RCMP members from Peace River, Spirit River, and Grande Prairie Police Dog Services attended to ensure public safety.
The male was arrested peacefully without incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Clinton Ray Tyrkus (37) of Fairview is charged with 16 Criminal Code offences. Tyrkus is due in Fairview Provincial Court on August 14, 2019.
On July 9, 2019, RCMP responded to a break, enter, and theft from a motor vehicle and residence in town. Jewellery amongst other items was stolen from the residence and the suspect fled the scene. Then on July 11, 2019 at approximately 4:00 a.m., RCMP responded to another break and enter to a residence in progress. A suspect had fled the scene. As a result of these investigations, RCMP have charged Nick Glover (28) of Fairview with numerous Criminal Code offences. Glover appeared in Fairview Provincial Court on July 24, 2019.
On July 14, 2019, RCMP conducted a traffic stop outside the town of Fairview for a vehicle equipment violation. Investigation lead to the seizure of two prohibited firearms, methamphetamine, and hyrdromorphone. The investigation is still ongoing.
